Set of 20 pcs high-performance racing bearings  (6 Ceramic and 14 Onyx Pro) with Black Diamond Oil for a Yokomo YZ-2 CAL3 or DTM3 buggy kit.

The Hybrid Ceramic Pro Set is a new off-shoot for racers looking for the best ratio of performace/ cost.  In our testing, the high-RPM gearboxes is where the ceramic bearings give maximum benefit.   We've also found the best bearings to run on the axles.  For this set, the gearbox runs on our Black Diamond ceramic oiled bearings.   The rear and front axles roll on Onyx Pro premium Chrome Steel bearings with low-drag oil lubrication and metal shields.   Take your program to the next level without breaking the budget for a complete ceramic bearing set.  The Schelle Hybrid set has been tested extensively in spec racing by owner and accomplished racer Kurt Wenger.  We use hardened Chrome Steel races, not stainless which is a softer steel intended to inhibit rust for marine use.    Once you get this set on the track, you won't regret the Schelle Hybrid set, it's not a compromise on anything but your racing budget.

  • Precision manufactured to ABEC-3 Standards, hardened Chrome Steel races for maximum durability and metal shields wherever possible to reduce drag.
  • Lubed with multi-National Champion Schelle Black Diamond Bearing Oil
  • Ideal replacements for racers who want to win without breaking the bank on full ceramics.
  • Satisfaction Guaranteed, contact us for a replacement if you aren't satisfied.
  • 6 pcs. CeramicBlack Diamond for gearbox, 14 pcs. Metal Shielded Onyx Pro oiled for front/rear axles and diff internal / steering rack bearings included as well.

Maintenance and Care:

-Once a month, every 4 track days: Check bearings by spinning gearbox (pinion removed) and axles.  Listen/feel for grit or dirt in bearings

- If gritty, take apart gearbox or hub and check individual bearings.  If everything in smooth, you can add 1-2 drops of oil every other time you check the bearings.  Over-oiling can get messy and attract more dirt, so be moderate in your oiling.

-To clean, never use brake cleaner, this causes grease/lube to break down and clump, making things worse with it's harsh chemicals.  Brake cleaner will ruin your bearings.  Use  1) a citrus based degreaser or 2) Electric parts cleaner a.k.a. motor spray.  Citrus base cleaners are more safe to use since they do not contain harsh chemicals.

-Use 1) a sonic jewelry cleaner, or 2) bearing blaster to try and work out the dirt.

-Let bearings dry and re-check.  If it's clean and still gritty, odds are that the dirt has damaged and dented the rolling surface, and you need to replace your bearing.   If they are smooth, you need to re-lube with specialty bearing grease or light oil.
